Have you ever participated in a “Photo A Day” challenge on Instagram and/or Facebook? They’re fun, and really get the creative juices flowing. But sometimes, you forget a day… or two… or life gets in the way and there you go, no photo a day.

But the photo challenges are so fun!

I would like to invite you to join me in the first official RMK “Weekly Photo Challenge.” The photo challenge invitation is to everyone, you don’t have to be a Retro Modern Kids customer, or even have any contact with children ever. You just have to like taking pictures.

Use your phone or a polaroid, your “real” camera or whichever picture taking device you prefer. The fun is in the interpretation of the theme. Here is how it works:

  • Check out the list of themes here, and follow @retromodernkids on Instagram and Facebook for weekly reminders (also see below). The numbers correspond to the week of the year. Since we’re starting out nearing October, 2014, we’ll be starting with week 40. Not sure which week it is? Look here.
  • Interpret the weekly theme in any way you wish. Please keep the photos family friendly, or, “Safe for Work.”
  • Share your photo on Instagram or Facebook, or both – making sure you use the hashtag #RMKweeklyphoto
  • Check out everyone else’s photos by looking up the hashtag #RMKweeklyphoto

That’s it!

So here is the list of themes for the rest of 2014, beginning with week 40:

40. New
41. Yellow
42. A pair of
43. What a view
44. Open
45. Textile
46. Monochrome

49. Textile
50. I made it
